Susan Haslip reviewed The Upper Room Home Furnishings

My initial experience with this store was good. My recent experience was horrible. I have multiple disabilities and chronic illnesses. I am having surgery and needed a piece of furniture that would double as an office furniture and a temporary bed. I settled on an Ottoman. I purchased it Sunday March 23rd, 2014. It was a floor item and a final sale. The item was to be removed from the floor on Wednesday March 26th and delivered Friday March 28th, 2014. I realized on Monday evening March 24th, 2014 that the item takes up too much space in the room for which iy was intended. I went to the store on Tuesday March 25th, 2014 and informed them of same and asked for a refund. My request was refused. I ultimately was offered a store credit. I indiciated that I do not want a store credit and that I need a refund as this would free up space on my credit card to purchase something that would meet my needs. I also confirmed that there was nothing in the store that I now felt would work. My request was refused. I am quite upset about the position taken by the store. I perceive it to be cold, callous, insensitive and to demonstrate a tremendous lack of understanding to someone in my circumstances. I indicated to the owner that I intended to share my experience with others through various media channels and that I will NEVER EVER buy anything from this store again. BOYCOTT THE UPPER ROOM HOME FURNISHINGS.
