I cannot urge you strongly enough to NOT deal with Westwood Metals. In dealing with numerous tradespeople and trades suppliers, I have never encountered any person or business that is so horrible to deal with. Here is a short list of the realities I experienced purchasing metal siding from them:
- I was very sarcastically told how important their customers are while begrudgingly filling my order
- I was shorted material then having to persue and persue them to remedy their error
- I was given non-itemized invoices, and one time when they finally sent an itemized invoice they realized they overcharged me but offered no apology as if this is a typical occurence
- after spending more than $5000 on materials, I was told they could not supply with me with the last few pieces required to finish my job
- they are almost never available on the phone (the person who sometimes answers the phone cannot do anything to assist with orders, answer questions about products or solve problems with orders)
My sense is that the only reason Westwood is still in business is because they don't have many competitors in Nanaimo so they can get away with their attitude and service. I highly suggest avoiding them at all costs and buying from the Slegg roofing department instead (pretty much the only other choice in Nanaimo). You will get the same products at a very slightly higher cost, but trust me the small increase in price is well worth the numerous hassles and headaches of dealing with Westwood.
