I bought an X Hose a year ago. The fellow offered me a 3 year warranty for $17.99. Because the seen on TV products tend to disappear I asked him if they were unable to get me another hose would I be able to get a cash refund. He assured me I could. The problem is they do not give you a copy of their warranty, you just have to trust what they tell you and that it will be in their computer. I bought the warranty, and about 3 weeks ago I called them because my hose was leaking at the connection. They checked their computer, and it was in there, but was told they didn't have any of the 75' hoses, but they had a shipment coming in the following Thurs. I called them Fri. and they did not get any, but they said they should be in the following Thurs. I told them this was the second time I had been told that and spoke with the manager. I told him that if they were not able to get me a 75' hose I would like my money back so I could go buy a hose elsewhere. He told me they would only give a store gift card, not a cash refund. I told him the fellow that sold me the hose & warranty had said I could get a cash refund. The manager then said he would try to get me a hose from the other stores. I called him back a couple of days later, but he was off until the next day. I called the next day and he said he had found me a hose and I could come and get it. When I got to the store I asked the only fellow in the store if it was him I had spoken to about the hose, and an older lady went pushing by me, picked up the hose from behind the desk, slapped it onto the desk and rudely said there is your hose, then she and the fellow I assumed was the manager left the store and said they would be back shortly. The girl at the desk pulled up my file on the computer and informed me that I owed them $10.50. I told her that with the warranty I should not have to pay any more. She said it was because they couldn't get the same hose as mine because the company only makes the improved version, and it is $10.00 more that what I paid. I have never heard of a company doing that - the warranty was to cover a replacement hose, and if that is the only hose they could replace it with, I should not be penalized. I waited about 15 min. for the manager to come back, but had another appointment to go to I paid the $10.50, and the girl asked me if I wanted to purchase a new warranty for $20.00 as well. Why is the 2 years of unused warranty left on my old hose not transferred to the new one - I know other companies will transfer the unused portion of the warranty to the replacement item. I have bought a lot of things and spent a lot of money there, but will never go back into that store again.
