Dr.Yoana Kyurchieva, a highly qualified teacher, soloist, accompanist, and chamber musician has been awarded many prizes and scholarships worldwide. Her solo appearances include performances throughout Bulgaria, Romania, Austria, Germany, Holland, Greece, Russia, Canada, and USA.
During her doctoral studies at the U of A, Yoana has been a teaching assistant to Dr. Patricia Tao, Dr. Jacques Despres, and Prof. Janet Scott-Hoyt. Yoana has taught private lessons to students of all ages at the Long Island Conservatory (NY), in Winston-Salem (NC), and in Edmonton, (AB).
Yoana teaching goals are developing proficient skills in various styles of music, and encouraging students to perform in recitals, festivals, competitions, and RCM examinations. Yoana remains receptive to students' different learning styles and caters lessons to their individual goals, expectations, and interests.
