More details

Chiropractic Care:
Chiropractic is a regulated, primary-contact health care profession, using a variety of non-invasive, hands-on manual therapies and modalities for treatment of the neuromusculoskeletal system. We offer two types of care: 1) Wellness care: Three types of stresses lead to tension in the body. These are physical stresses (eg. workplace demands), chemical stresses (eg. dietary choices), and emotional stresses (eg. family issues). Chiropractic care keeps muscles and spinal joints working properly. This decreases tension in the body, leading to improved function and health of all the body's systems. We will also help you to identify the stresses in your life that lead to the tension, and help motivate you to make changes to remove them. 2) Physical Therapy/Injury Rehab: Treatment plans provide recovery for conditions of the back and neck, as well as any upper or lower limb injuries. These can include WSIB injuries, motor vehicle accidents, sports injuries, or any other musculoskeletal crisis.
Physiotherapy:
Physiotherapy is a drug-free health care practice. Physiotherapists work in partnership with individuals of all ages to break down the barriers to physical function whether that means working with patients pre and post surgery, helping people come back from illness and chronic disease, injury, industrial and age related conditions. Physiotherapists also play an important role in health promotion and disease prevention. Physiotherapy has proven to be effective in the treatment and management of arthritis, diabetes, stroke and traumatic brain injury, spinal cord injury and a range of respiratory conditions offering those afflicted with tools and techniques to acquire and maintain an optimum level of function and pain free living.
Massage Therapy:
Massage therapy, when combined with rest, a proper diet, and daily exercise can improve a person's health and vitality. Massage therapy can help eliminate toxicity by eliciting relaxation and decreasing the tension that often hold biochemical bi-products. Many tension spots that are frequently perceived as trigger points, a.k.a. knots, hold lactic acid and other toxins. Manual soft tissue therapy such as massage can help aide in the release of such toxins which are then carried through the circulatory system and the lymphatic system and eventually eliminated either by being broken down (when the liver and kidney are working efficiently) or through sweat. Typical massage therapy sessions include different techniques which help the elimination process. Deep moist heat, such as a thermaphore (heating pad) helps to break down tough connective tissue which can bind muscle fibers that cause and perpetuate the tension. Manual Lymphatic Drainage, which is a lighter touch, creates a pumping effect which is followed through the lymph system. Deeper techniques help to penetrate deeper muscles. Lighter or faster techniques allow for a flushing effect on the loosened tissue. For a greater sense of warmth and comfort ask for a hot stone massage treatment.
Naturopathic Medicine:
Naturopathic medicine is a discipline of clinical sciences that merges the modern medical discovery in the way of diagnosis, with time-proven holistic treatments. Naturopathic physicians have a minimum 3 years in pre-medical sciences at a university, followed by 4 years of medical training at an accredited college of naturopathic medicine. During and after their 4 years of study, naturopathic doctors are required to write two sets of board exams administered by the North American Board of Naturopathic Examiners (NABNE), before they are able to register for their license. Naturopathic doctors are licensed and regulated by the Board of Directors of Drugless Therapies - Naturopathy, which is currently under transition to join the Regulated Health Practitioners Act of Ontario (College of Naturopathy). Modalities Include: -Nutrition -Homeopathic medicine -Botanical medicine -Traditional Chinese Medicine and -Acupuncture -Physical Medicine
