Design

“Landscape Architects and landscape designers are creating beautiful, artistic landscapes for homeowners around the globe. It is my passion and objective to enhance all of those wonderful ideas, by creating an emotional response or simply making these environments comfortable for their clients”.

With every project, large or small, Copper Expressions begins its artistic and scientific design process by assessing the project needs. Interviewing the client and other design team members allows us to establish the scope and design direction of the project. Gathering information from the client and understanding the client’s expectations are crucial in developing a good lighting design.

It is imperative for us to first understand how the space will be used by the client and their visitors. Budget, control options, and deadlines will be reviewed during our site visits. Documents and drawings will be collected and once a contract has been established we will begin a conceptual design and a conceptual budget for the scope of the project.

Conceptual Landscape Lighting Design Renderings

For clients who struggle with how landscape lighting might enhance their property, we offer renderings to aid in the visualization of their project. Whether you have a new property or an already established landscape, these “digital paintings” are created by taking a daytime photograph and implementing the conceptual lighting design. This wonderful technique has provided clients around the globe the ability to visualize their future investment. This is truly an incredible tool for our clients.

Once the final design meets the approval of the client, drawings and documentation are produced for the installation of the landscape lighting system.

Installation

Copper Expressions is experienced in both large and small construction projects. We have established strict installation specifications that include CSA and UL approved products and materials for our landscape lighting systems.

Copper Expressions provides installations within Southern Ontario, Canada, and can facilitate installations in all other regions around the globe if desired. In some cases local contractors, such as tree climbers or electrical contractors will be utilized to perform the installations. We have developed a detailed “installation program” for those contractors. This ensures that all specified installation methods and all code requirements are implemented with every project. The final phase of the installation incorporates night aiming and final focusing of all fixtures. This task is performed by Ken Martin (and crew) and may take several nights to complete depending on the size of the project.

Maintenance

We believe it is imperative for any professional outdoor lighting system to have regular maintenance by a knowledgeable lighting company. Whether you have an existing system, new or old, regular maintenance is the key to ensuring your system functions as originally designed. Our maintenance package includes cleaning of all fixtures and lenses, replacement of any lamps, checking all wiring connections, adjusting timers, and ensuring the system operates as intended.

One of the ways that Copper Expressions is unique is that we offer a full maintenance program which includes documentation for all of our clients. We can either travel to site to provide maintenance, or provide oversight for local contractors to ensure the integrity of the original design is maintained.
